Privacy policy
Effective July 3, 2026
This is the personal site of Tyler Biberston. I run it myself, and there's no company behind it. I try to collect as little as possible, I don't sell your data, and this page is the plain-English version of exactly what happens when you use the site.
What I collect
Only what it takes to run the site, and only by loading a page:
- Anonymous, aggregate usage stats (which pages get visited, rough geography, and load times) through privacy-friendly analytics that don't identify you.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which (like any web host) processes basic technical information such as your IP address in order to serve pages and protect the site from abuse. I don't have access to a log that ties that to you.
Analytics
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see basic traffic trends. It is cookieless, doesn't fingerprint your device, doesn't track you across other websites, and doesn't collect personal information. I only ever see aggregate numbers, not individual people.
Cookies
This site does not set its own tracking cookies, and the analytics above are cookieless. The one exception is affiliate links: if you click one (for example, a link to Amazon) and then buy something, the merchant may set its own cookies to credit the referral. Those cookies are controlled by the merchant under their privacy policy, not mine.
Affiliate links
Some links, mainly the book recommendations, are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy through one of these links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what I choose to recommend.
How your information is used, and what I never do
Analytics are used to understand what's useful and improve the site. That's the entire list. I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, and there are no ad networks on this site.
Who else touches your data
The only third party involved is the service that makes the site work: Cloudflare (hosting and analytics), which has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data on its end.
Your choices and data requests
If you'd like to know what I have on file, get a copy, or have it deleted, email me at [YOUR_CONTACT_EMAIL] and I'll take care of it.
California residents
If you live in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request a copy, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your information. I don't sell or share your information, so there's nothing to opt out of, but you can still make any of these requests using the contact above, and I won't discriminate against you for it.
Children
This site isn't directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, I'll update the effective date at the top and note anything material here. Questions about privacy? Email [YOUR_CONTACT_EMAIL].
